Ingredients

Cow dung: 10 kg
Cow urine: 10 litres
Crude jaggery: 2 kg
Besan or any flour of any pulses: 2 kg
Soil: handful [untouched by chemicals; prefer soil on the bunds]
200 litre capacity drum

Method of preparation

  • Take 200 litres of water in a drum.
  • Add 10 kg dung into water and stir continuosly
  • Add 2 kg crushed jaggery and 2 kg besan and stir it
  • Add 10 litres cow urine
  • Add handful of soil
  • Stir it well and close the mouth of the drum with a gunny bag
  • Stir once atleast two days
  • In one week the Jiwamrit is ready

If drum is not available, the preparation can be taken up in a mud/dung plastered pit at the field itself

Usage

It can be used even after 2 days while preparing.
200 litres of Jiwamrit can be used as foliar spray or released slowly in the irrigation channel or sprayed on the soil mulch.
Can be used every fortnight.
